NEW! Locally-Roasted Single Origin Coffee by No Apologies

from $16.00

Introducing No Apologies Coffee! A small-batch, single origin or select blend, locally-roasted coffee made by our long-time friend & farm family member Mark Degan from Davidson, NC. Coffee comes in 10oz bags, and selections will change frequently based on what’s currently roasting, so check back each week to see what’s new, and see Mark’s PRO TIPS on coffee roasting & more below.

About No Apologies:

Mark’s journey into the world of coffee and espresso took an unexpected turn during the onset of COVID. What started as casual enjoyment evolved into a passionate home-roasting endeavor that brought joy to him, his family and friends & served as a weekly exploration of roasting techniques. Over the past couple of years, and with several roaster upgrades, Mark is excited to join forces with HHF to introduce what we believe is an exceptional product through No Apologies Coffee.

The mission of No Apologies Coffee:

  1. One-of-a-Kind Experience: Provide distinctive, single-origin coffees that go beyond the offerings of local grocery stores or chain cafés. You won’t find any flavorings or fillers at No Apologies, just 100% amazing coffee.

  2. Authenticity Over Marketing: You won't find any catchy coffee names here, as we prioritize transparency. Use the QR code on our packaging to reveal the origin of your coffee, including details about the farmer or their handling and processing methods. Take the opportunity to gather as much or as little information as you prefer, as we disclose the intricacies of our sourcing.

  3. Environmentally Conscious Packaging: No one is perfect, but we recognize the environmental impact of traditional coffee bags, so we’ve created packaging from materials that break down and biodegrade over time, contributing to a more sustainable coffee experience and by encouraging the use of airtight storage canisters.

This week’s coffees:

Batch 118 | Bean:  Central American Select Blend (Costa Rica, Mexico, Nicaragua). Profile:   An all-Central American blend that brings syrupy bittersweetness with flavors of high % cacao bar, rich chocolate truffles, syrupy dark chocolate, hints of prune, lemon peel, and praline almond. Scoring & Flavors: view map in product images. Click here for overview, farm detail & more info.

Batch 120 | Bean:  Guatemala Organic Asdecafe. Honeyed sweetness with bright, orange citrus acidity and pleasant notes of pear and cocoa. Click here for overview, farm detail & more info. Scoring Flavors: view map in product images.

Batch 121 | Bean:  Mexico Organic Chiapas San Cristobal. Has a very nice body, and carries bittersweet chocolate to the long aftertaste. Sweetness of bready treats and baked goods, like malt bread, and old-fashioned molasses cake, with a hint of cinnamon. This will make a nice espresso on its own.
