King Trumpet Mushrooms
King Trumpet Mushrooms
Back by popular demand, our King Trumpet Mushrooms (also known as King Oyster) are a Chef favorite for their meaty texture, mild umami flavor, and incredible versatility in the kitchen.
These stately mushrooms feature thick, buttery stems and petite caps that sear and caramelize beautifully. When sliced lengthwise and pan-roasted, they develop a golden crust and a tender, scallop-like bite — making them one of the best vegetarian or flexitarian stand-ins for meat or seafood.
Flavor & Texture
Texture: Firm and hearty; holds shape beautifully when cooked
Flavor: Mild, nutty, and savory with rich umami depth
Cooking Notes: Slice lengthwise for “scallops,” roast whole, or shred into tacos or sandwiches
Storage & Care
Keep refrigerated in a paper bag or breathable container. Best enjoyed within 5–7 days. Avoid sealing in plastic, as excess moisture shortens shelf life.
